Please could you identify this tree. Growing in a boundary hedge in a garden in South Wales. Very dark bark and produces runners from base of tree. Seedlings popping up all over garden.

A spray of leaves actually, so we can see how they are arranged on the twig as well as what the leaves are like.
And can you find any seeds as well?
