Looking for a dwarf fluffy acer to put in a pot Can anyone recommend

Are you thinking the disectum ones?
like Acer palmatum disectum atroperpureum?

the japanese acers that need a sheltered site, no cold winds or too much sun, can't grow them here but my friends garden not far away is sheltered and hers is lovely

A. palmatum dissectum Garnet or Crimson Queen are nice ones Kath. Both are red. I grow both, very slow. I have Crimson Queen in the ground and is no more than 1.2m in height after 17 years.
