Answers
A. palmatum dissectum Garnet or Crimson Queen are nice ones Kath. Both are red. I grow both, very slow. I have Crimson Queen in the ground and is no more than 1.2m in height after 17 years.

the japanese acers that need a sheltered site, no cold winds or too much sun, can't grow them here but my friends garden not far away is sheltered and hers is lovely
