Problems with Powdery Mildew on Beech trees.....
By Peach2810

Hello,
I have a row of small (3-4 ft) copper beech trees and since I planted them (a couple of years ago) they suffer from very bad powdery mildew throughout summer (the leaves turn green in April June and they look lovely but only stay mildew free for a matter of weeks!). It is so bad that the leaves are not growing and it is affecting the new buds so badly that by Autumn when the leaves start turning copper they have only grow about 1cm!
Any suggestions or are they beyond help?
Thank you

This is caused by dryness at the roots and lack of air flow around them. How closely planted are they? Are they a hedge or a row of trees?
