I failed to grow plants from the root cuttings of a middle aged Chinese princess tree. (Paulownia tomentosa )an introduced species in this temperate area. The tree did flower profusely but seeds were not formed, Finally as it became too big and it was felld in Nov 2007,in April 2008 bumper growth of the coppice branches emerged. I allowed them to grow till Nov 2008, transplanted some coppice shoots with portions of the root in March 2009 except one all failed. Now in April 2010 a number of young shoots have again emerged from the remains of the root system. Tell me please about any special method to be employed for transplanting these shoots.
