Could someone please tell me how to start a new private message? I've been to my messages section, but I can't see an option to do it. Sorry if it's obvious and I've just missed it....

But....supposing the person I want to send a PM to isn't anywhere on recent questions?

It will show up on the persons newsfeed Canalhopper, it tells you how many comments and pm's one has received since last logging on, as regards the pm's until one clicks on seen the number appears in brackets at the side...

If you can't find the member, try typing his/her name in the top right hand box on this page ... [where it says google search]... then click on Search on the right of that.

Click on the avatar of the person you want to send a pm to and you will see this as an option.
