I brought three root fantail lillies last year, I think I planted them around oct nov time, one of them kept coming through the soil so I kept covering it. Now it has come through again but this time I have left it. No sign of the others yet and I'm wondering if they have died or I planted them more deeply. Should I keep covering the one that's through?
I have other question I was told when I brought some daliers last year (which I kept in pots) to cut them right down in the auturm and not water them and put them somewhere frost free so I have some in my shed and some in my covered in porch. Should I start to water them now? They look dead to me?
Thanking you

Do you mean Foxtail lilies? They are usually planted in autumn. The shoots need to be only just under the soil, with the starfish-like roots a bit deeper. They also need very good drainage. They can be a bit tricky to establish, I covered mine with straw until the frosts were over and that seemed to work.
It is time to wake up your dahlias now, you can start to water and you should see shoots appearing soon.
