wonderful tough people Harry & Ruth, you'd never go cold or hungry with these two in charge eh? I remember Ruth drawing a rabbit, matter of factual approach with non of the narcissitic drama & temperimantal behaviour we get 'fed' on tv's cooking programs today & Harry would be out in all weather going about his task's in his quiet manner ( I rather suspect children would'nt get very far with their spoilt antics of today with these two down to earth characters either). ;-)

Harry did two other series - The Victorian Kitchen Garden and The Victorian Flower Garden which were also fascinating and Ruth did a companion series - the Victoria Kitchen and an single programme, A Victorian Christmas.

I watched some of the Victorian one recently on Yesterday, I'm now quite keen to see the whole series, fascinating stuff, even though I don't grow veggies and fruit, marvellous old methods, very impressive, but sooo labour intensive. No wonder 10 generations of my family were gardeners...
