Plum Tree not fruiting...I wonder if anyone can advise on what to do to get a 4 year old plum tree (think it`s a Marjorie seedling) to fruit? I think we made the mistake of letting it fruit in its first year and it produced around 60-70 plums! Since then nothing!! The tree is very healthy but has had no more than a handful of blossom in the last three years. Last year we read up how to prune it correctly thinking it might help but doesn`t look promising. Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you

Try a high potash feed but not after june.....also be sure it gets enough water .....what you do this year will affect next year.
the frosts we've had recently could kill the blossom too

Thank you, I will give that a try.

Do you have space for a 2nd plum tree? They seem to do better when they cross-pollinate.

Not really, although my husband would find space! but it is next to a pear tree and a cherry tree and we also have an apple.

I think depending on the variety that as Bathgate says they do better with a compatable pollinator.....any neighbours have fruit trees?

How do I say thanks?
