Hi everyone, hope you are all enjoying your gardening during this lovely spell of fine weather, well here in the UK at least.
I am looking for a top quality bulb planting tool, can any of you give me a clue?

Mine is a traditional Joseph Bentley with lovely long wooden handle and a metal foot plate(?) to push your foot down on (e.g. used like a spade.) It's heavy, and my soil is also heavy, so you need to be strong; it's extremely well made so I'll never need a replacement.
It was probably quite expensive, but certainly the 'top quality' that you're looking for.

HI, if you're going to be planting hundreds, or thousands of bulbs every year, then by all means get a bulb planting tool, otherwise I find an ordinary trowel just as effective, without the extra expense, Derek.

I have a lovely bulb trowel - they have narrow blades with the depth marked on. Mine is stainless steel blade and wooden handle, lovely balance - can't remember the make but it's nearly 20 years old and looks a good as new.
