tiny yellow 'eggs' found in the earth of my garden tubs.what are they?when pressure put on these 'eggs' they 'pop'.

I think the same as Cammomile.Did you by any chance empty the contents of pots,onto the soil,which had added slow release fertiliser in them ?

Could be,N,Potter..sorry Grunning,I misread your question..just saw 'earth' and not garden tubs,so assumed they were in the ground.,so if they are at the bottom of the tubs,more likely to be eggs..Slow release fertiliser would be spread throughout.or nearer the top....
