Is this deadly nightshade? I have found this plant growing near to my pond. It has potatoe looking flowers, large dark green leaves. I thought it was a sun flower when it first began to grow!

Is it dangerous Beattie? Will it hurt me?kids if we touch it?

No harm unless you eat it, Great. Keep an eye on the kids, of course: it does produce shiny black berries.

It is poisonous and spreads very successfully, I'd heave it out now if it were mine.

Yep, I'd get shot of it where kids are - my son once ate one of the berries on this (growing near blackberries) and was in hospital for a weekend, so I'd not risk it.

No point in having it hanging around, it's not attractive, it spreads really easily and it's poisonous. It's best gone! Well done Great!
