can I prune a hybrid rose in October/November and if so how much?

Hybrid doesn't tell us much - is it a climber or a bush or a shrub? Usual to take some height off climbers now to prevent windrock and tie in new growth, good prune in early March, bush roses (HT, floribunda) pruned in early March.
