Hi, I'm wondering if I can cut my parrot plant right back, keeping the origional stem which is 36ins tall and looks like its dying with the leaves and flowers dropping of although there seems to be to new shoots coming of the tips of each branch. I've taken 5no branches of and placed them in water hoping they'll grow. Any advice gratefully accepted. Thanks

I agree with Fractal.I used to have one and used to put the cut off stems in water and they would grow roots to be potted up. The parent plant would then grow new stems.

I think it will grow if cut hard back though one suggestion, root the tips of the bits you cut off to start new plants as a back up.
