Daughter gave me 2 packets of beetroot seeds Recently. Set 3 from each 6 days ago and all are showing. Then I read the packets - produced in 2009, discard after 2010 ! Will they grow ok ?

the fact they have germinated means they are fine. often seeds deteriorate once the packet is open. hence the instructions on the packet. I always try 'old' seed and if they don't germinate I buy new.

I think they answered the question for you. They seem to be growing fine. Sounds like they just want you to buy new seeds every year - it's a marketing ploy.
