Scabious 'Butterfly Blue' purchased 6 weeks ago in 20cm pots (and not cheap!) have now developed mildew and look dreadful. The 2 plants are planted in the sunniest part of my garden 30 feet apart - one in slighty damper conditions. Both now mildewed. Other than spraying with fungicide what can I do. Researching on internet I didn't get impression that Butterfly Blue was that prone to mildew. They look so bad I'm inclined to pull them up but that would be wasting £15!! Does anyone grow this and how is yours?

I sometimes get mildew on the native scabious. I leave them a lone and they come back next season ok. I think the weather is partly to blame.

I have never heard of them getting mildew either. I have several in my garden and all are thriving. Is it worth complaining?
