Plant ID please? You 'guys' are so good answering questions, I thought I'd throw you another one. What is this blue flowering plant I discovered growing in Riverside Park, NYC? It looks like blue dangling bells or something with that odd red thing in there. Is this some naturalizing invasive weed or did somebody actually plant this. I'm tempted to take some home with me. Thank you.

It sure is Sheila. It stopped me in my tracks, not always a good idea in New York City :) The leaves alone look good enough to eat, but I want to know more about it. Hopefully i'll find out soon. Thanks!

Certainly a member of the family Boraginaceae, and looks closely related to Comfrey (Symphytum).

Bathgate, this is one of the most beautiful sights of spring. When walking the fishermans paths to trout streams in the wooded areas of eastern Pennsylvania, the woodland floors are thickly carpeted with Bluebells this time of year. It's really like a wonderland. One of the most spectacular areas where this can be found is along the wooded banks of the Perkiomen Creek in Montgomery County, PA. To really put a chill down your spine you will also find American Bald Eagles patrolling along the creek for food. If you don't fish there is a bicycle/hiking path that goes on for about 20 miles in this area. There is a parking area right next to the trail where route 113 crosses the creek near Skippack, Pa which I might add is a great PA town to visit.

Thank you for everybody's comment. I think the 'verdict' is in. These look like Virginia Bluebells. They also come in pink & white. Landgirl100, you are correct. It's member of the Boraginaceae family. Have a nice day everybody!
