Soil discard?
I have an area of garden that is a "pending" or "wip" section. Some plastic pots are slightly discoloured & I took one to use. I took out aquelegia ,yellow poppy & another put them to one side to get the soil out. It was sandy & light just right for herbs I thought.....A rotten bulb went pop & the smell was awful. Do I throw the soil away or will the smell dissipate.? So bad I've come indoors.....yikes

It was in a dry area, There were 2 bulbs in a ceramic pot in another area that were soft. Hollow on the inside perhaps?
Generally bulb loss is v low.

the smell will dissipate in time, but I wouldn't use that soil in its present state. why did the bulb rot ? was the pot standing in water?
