Hi all, ID again please. 1st thank you all for your patience with me. Am I right in thinking that the fern like leaves in this photo in the middle are Yarrow? And what is the plants to the left of it? I've got the plants to the left in all my borders in my back garden. I want to dig them up and clear but hubby says it might be a nice plant and leave and see. Jen

Experts say "wait one year" in a new garden, to find out what you have growing. However if someone on this site can ID the plants for you, then you won't have to wait! (Sorry I can't help with this one)

the middle one is yarrow, the one on the right is a nettle but I guess you knew that.
the one on the left could be one of several. lysimachia punctate, or a sage etc. are the leaves aromatic?

I think the one with the yarrow-like leaves could be an Anthemis, perhaps tinctoria. The one on the left might be marjoram?

I have looked closer and the leaves have small hairs on both side and can just about see small yellow flowers forming. There is no smell when I crushed a leaf. As said this plant makes up about over 50% of my back garden boarder.

Suggest you take another photo when the flowers open. Meanwhile it would be good to remove that bramble from behind as both that and the nettles will get worse quite fast if you don't.

Thanks all. As suggested will post again when in flower. I don't think former owners dug borders in years and got nettles and bramble in every border as well. I've had to in the end just start in 1 corner of garden and work my way around. Hubby said yesterday that he renamed me Rockie. Stupid me asked why. He said next to me everytime when in the garden is always a pile of stones, 1/2 bricks and and even roof slates that I've dug out. If this was a new build would understand but it was built in 1878.

that makes me think lysimachia for the one on the left.

Hi seaburngirl. Just looked up lysimachia on net. I think you could be right. Thank you :-)
