HELP HELP HELP with this acer? It's the only one that gets any wind to it and it's all gone crinkly? It gets plenty of water but I don't want to lose it, should I move it? I've only had it about four months and the rest are all ok. I have a sheltered spot I can move it to.. Opinions please??!

yes I agree, try and move it now, especially as the ground is pretty wet at the moment. just watch your back, large root balls are heavy.

It looks a little like mine I moved it a few times over the last two years trying to save it and ended up with dry wood so I had to pull it out. I wish you all the luck.

Thankyou!! I did move it and it's picked up a lot. Getting lots of new foliage on at the moment :)

Oh good, sounds like it didn't notice disturbance at the root and likes its new situation.

Yes! It hadn't really rooted in where it was! Luckily it seems to be having a good time where it is now!

It's wind damage - hot sun can cause this too, but its most often wind. Won't kill it, it'll just make it look awful, so probably best to wait till autumn and then move to a more sheltered spot, although if its only been in four months, I'd risk doing it now, carefully, preferably taking enough soil around the roots so it doesn't notice, and keeping well watered.
