I enthusiastically prepared and planted asparagus crowns (a red tipped variety ) in April. There is still NOTHING AT ALL to be seen. Should I dig them up..has it been too cold and wet..I am in SW London.

I think you might be a bit impatient, especially with all this wet weather we are having. Wait until it warms up, I'm sure they'll start sprouting.
