Every morning finding Fox fouling (I'm sure it's a fox) on my back lawn
Tried a "Sonar Device" no success to date

This is territorial boundary marking and you should be honored that the fox is doing this refreshing every day for this indicates that your property is a prime ground for it and it doesn't want other foxes crossing its "red line". I would leave things as they are for sooner or later the fox will stop doing this when it looses interest in this piece of turf or looses its life crossing a road. For the most part with wild animals or domestic for that matter the battle to try to modify basic natural behavior will be lost.

On the other hand, human urine poured in strategic places is supposed to mark it as your territory and is said to work!

On human urine pee a test patch just to make sure it doesn't burn the grass:)

I'm certainly not "honoured" by my local fox! It took 3 chickens the other day in broad daylight, despite there being hundreds of rabbits around. Grrrrrr!

Well there you go.....that is why your property is considered prime territory...it is a delectable food court for the fox. If they are your chickens and free range there is little that can be done and even if fenced in they can jump most fences or dig underneath. Forage times are early morning for a few hours and the same thing right after dark so if you have a large dog, that would be the time to let him out on a long leash.

Loosetrife it wasn't Landgirl who has the fox problem...

Well, she obviously does have a fox problem, but she wasn't the one who wrote the question.

Yes, it comes with the territory if you keep chickens. Our neighbours started with free range but it wasn't long before a large run was built...
We get a fox crossing the garden but mercifully not fouling it.
