Cammomile, Campsis radicans, the Orange trumpet vine is considered hardy throughout the UK.

Sorry Hank, have to be in a conservatory or given winter shelter - most of the UK is Zone 8, and where you are will certainly be Zone 8 - this plant is only hardy zone 9 upwards. Where'd you find this article, was it a British site?
Campsis radicans is hardy throughout most of the UK but, and its a big but, will only flower well if its grown in a sheltered spot with full sun, see link below

Thanks guys. Dammit - I thought I'd found a real winner. I guess it'll have to be the malope triffida again which I grew the year before last. They looked really nice but will need more suppore that I gave them before.

One of my sisters had an orange trumpet vine on the back wall of her house, south facing, for years. I think it was only lost when she was no longer fit enough to care for the garden. Beautiful plant.
