Some of my rhubard stems have bruises which have a clear sticky resin attached. The bruising goes to the centre of the stem and is not just on the surface. Any ideas of the cause please

Hi Philip and welcome to GoY, I find this happens with rhubarb as the season wears on. To me it is a sign to stop picking.
