I have 10 assorted penstomen flowers in small pots, which arrived 3 weeks ago.

They dont seem to be growing much, even in the open air.

What should I do, as I want to transfer them into the garden when big enough.

I bought 12 this year, back in April, all from cuttings 3 - 4 ins. Planted out in May , lost 3. When I removed them, the roots hadnt moved. Most probably my fault. So you might need to loosen the roots when planting out. The others are doing very well and even showing new growth around them. they do like a feed.

As they are potentially quite large plants in some varieties, it is best not to let them sit in small pots too long. I have found that if they stay in small pots too long they, can be slow to get going when they are planted out. My best ones are when I have bought medium sized plants and planted them out quite quickly. They need to get their roots down before the summer ends.
