How deep-rooted is Cornus Controversa variegata? I'm hoping to move it into a large pot for our anticipated relocation.

Hard to say without knowing its height and spread and how long it's been in the ground. Generally though, if its longer than 3 years, no chance, 2-3 years, risky - if you were digging it out by trenching the year before, then lifting and planting in the ground elsewhere more or less immediately, maybe one that's been in five years or more, but you'd probably need a tarp and lifting gear.
