I agree about the fern. its a nice specimen too.
Not got any idea for the other one though. Is it woody? or hollow stems more straw like?

SGB, the stems are woody, not hollow and no bottom growth at the mo.

Is it likely to be a garden fuschia? Lots of fuschia people on here, hopefully one of them will read your question.

I don't think its a fuchsia - if we are talking about the tall one with dead leaves. If you need identifications before plant it you should pot up the bare rooted plant or it will die. When the leaves start to grow we can have another shot at identification.

The bottom one is Harts Tongue fern, Asplenium scolopendrium.
