Zebra grass.
I have just dug up loads of zebra grass (it's very invasive ) but have allowed it to stay as it acts like a screen after cutting down my conifer at the end of my drive. To stop it from growing from my border into the lawn I have created a barrier underground. Question is what (perennial) plant could I plant, low growing that will stay in place and at the front of my border between zebra grass and my lawn? Area is 1 metre long and 30 cm deep, mostly in shade and quite windy. Blue/purple flowers preferred. Thought of violas, primroses or geraniums but have got a lot of those dotted around the garden already so would like to try something else. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

Hank-I must admit I am not entirely sure it is zebra grass but I will post a photo of it later in the year when it reaches full height.

The zebra grass will most likely overwhelmed anything you plant there if it's anything like you say. If you put your plant into a pot, then sink the pot into the ground so it has it's own private growing area, now your talkin'.

Wish my zebra grass would spread out, it's occupied a spot about 18 inches diameter for the last 25 years. Grows 5 ft tall but no spread.
