Hi guys. Juts wondering if anyone knows any info on this plant I just picked up from a local nursery. He grows millions of plants but doesn't know himself what it is.

One of the Rhizomatous Irises but which one I've no idea. The grower really should know what he was growing...

Has the look of Iris confusa.

Thank you. Will this do well near trees? That's unfortunately the only area of soil we have until the new soil and turf is lay

Irises usually do best when the rhizome (the thick part of the root nearest the stem) is open to sunshine. If the only area you have free is shady can you keep the plant in the pot until you have a more suitable area ready?

Agree with Stera your iris will not take kindly to shade. The rhizome almost needs to be baked by the sun each year.

How do I say thanks?
