Hardy Begonia (B. evansiana), or one of its kin? It still would have had flowers last summer, probably.

Sorry, that should be family not familiar. I have Tellima grandiflora and these leaves do look similar.

BTW it's not geranium as I have loads and the leaves of this are about 4 times the size of geranium.
