I've no idea which cucumbers I used to grow, but they always fruited - and there was only ever one as there wasn't room for two!

They grow fine and a F1 female means it shouldn't have any male flowers as they dont need pollination to produce a cucumber this will stop them tasting bitter.

Are you growing in a pot or the border ?
When planting , plant on a mound of soil/compost this will help with drainage as the biggest killer is over watering when they are small.
