My neighbour has this lovely fragrant rose. It's over 6 feet tall and she wonders whether it's a shrub rose and what it might be named. Perhaps someone can help?

It looks like one of the David Austins, but which one is beyond my expertise. Maybe 'Wedgewood', at a guess? Others will probably know better.

I'm sure it's a moss rose and it is bi coloured, with a marbled effect which doesn't show on the photo.

A moss rose would have buds covered in woolly glands, or some moss rose hybrids have tiny prickles in place of wool.

I'll just have to tell her to enjoy them and not worry about what they are!

Think it maybe Gentle Hermione, if the colour is like a blush pink, rather than towards the purple. listed as having a strong myrrh scent.
