I have planted a plum tree (last summer) now realised it is too close to a cherry tree I planted 5 years ago. Also I have noiced that this plum tree and an apple tree (also planted last year) have grown long thin branches with all the foliage and flowers at the very ends of the branches. Should I cut back and if so when & when is the best time to move the tree. Thank You.

Yes do prune back both the plum and the apple tree to control the long whippy growth. The plum should be pruned this month to ensure it does not get silver leaf disease. Wait until autumn to move your plum tree and make sure you take as big a root ball as possible.
