It seems to have enjoyed that grapefruit but it isn't on the list. Would it be suet ? I believe birds here like it.

LOL Hywel; They actually love grape jelly or grape jam. Orioles are notorious for their 'sweet tooth'. Thanks :)

They sure are Callie. I'm still amazed everytime I see one. They are also 'master craftsmen' of the hanging basket nest - and they love grape jelly.

I would have guessed niger seeds - but never jelly. Thanks for the quiz! What's next . . . ask us another?

LOL They are funny birds Sheila - they prefer our processed foods over the natural seeds. They love anything sweet. Wait...so do I! Let's see, what's next? i'll come up with something.

Are they of the weaver bird family as they make basket nests?
With that narrow beak I would have thought the niger seeds would be popular.

They love all the above but the grape jelly would be their first pick. Thay have a 'sweet tooth'. I don't know a lot about them but their nests are strong enough to raise their chicks.

f., jelly...especially orange marmalade! :)
Seriously, I don't know for sure, but citrus fruit are the most attractive to our local orioles, and the picture is suggestive.
