Hi. I have some Clematis coming into leaf, I’m not sure if I can prune them, here are some pics.....
They flowered around May, if I can prune them how low to the nearest growth can can I go?
Sorry I lost the names of them Doh!!!

I suspect they are group 2 so that means they flower on new growth.
Remove dead or weak stems before growth begins ideally. Check individual stems from the top down until you reach a pair of healthy buds, and prune just above them, removing the spindly or damaged growth above. If it is still too big go down to the next lot of buds.
Avoid heavy pruning or flowers will be lost.
