I assume it is outside and you have been relying on the rain to water it. with the recent dry windy spell then it will need watering. the brown tips are more likely to be due to the wind.

Where I live, Phoenix palms in containers need to be watered every day. :)
While that obviously doesn't apply to the UK, I have learned that the chances of natural rainfall doing a thorough job of watering containers are pretty slim. Whether it rains or not, I would periodically make sure that my containers got a good soaking.
