It would be nice if when people add themselves to the site that they added Male or Female as I sometimes have to guess LOL

LE, I have to say that I thought it was just me but I do find that some names are gender neutral.

A lot of names are gender neutral on here, mine included, though you can sometimes tell what gender people are by what they say... but does it matter, really, what gender people are?

Agree, it doesn't matter but if you don't know already I'm female.

I don't suppose it matters particularly, but I must admit that it took me some time to work out the gender of a few regulars on here!

Someone once called me a lovely lady ! She was not familiar with my Welsh name lol :D
A man recently left this site because he apparently thought there were too many women and not enough men on it.
Personally I don't think it matters.

Really Hywel? Who was that?
I was also just thinking, these days, gender isn't straightforward any more either, is it... lots of transgenders around, as well as gender neutral and other strange terms... I'm female, LadyEssex, just in case you didn't know!

I agree with you Bamboo that gender is not straight-forward these days! Why does everyone and everything have to have a label these days - from gender, to behaviour, to illnesses (OK might need that one) to nationality? If we all have be PC now, why the labels? Surely that just picks out a difference.
I must admit Bamboo that when I first started I thought you were male - something to do with the 'non-fluffy' nature of bamboo - how's that for type-casting?
I'm female and nowhere near as sweet as my name!

Many people have assumed I'm male, Honeysuckle, but to be fair, it might be my very much 'non fluffy' answers that help give that impression. I'm definitely not particularly 'fluffy' generally, never mind professionally!

O tempora o mores! Looking around today, I wonder what the heck Cicero was complaining about.

Well I’m female & my name is Jackie :o)) xx

Loosestrife2: Nothing much changes though, does it - it just looks like it does on the surface, but the same old complaints and struggles run like a continuous thread through history
Goldengirl - your name is one of the few that's gendered anyway!

Bamboo, at the age of 19, and I remembered it like it was yesterday, a college professor of mine walked into the classroom and said “Gentlemen, there is no such thing as human progress.” Yes, our technology gets better but we don’t. I then turned my head and looking out the lecture room window I saw an old lady picking dandelion flowers....thank goodness I saw her doing an act of gardening or else I could not have posted this here.

Loosestrife 2: Well, though I believe its factual, that statement about human progress is totally depressing, isn't it.... we rely totally on the rule of law, its the only thing between us and all the more unsavoury human tendencies... and depending who's in charge, the rule of law fails too at times. Ho hum, maybe I'll just pop out and do a bit of deadheading and watering, take my mind off it!

This has been an interesting thread, but fully agree with steragram, the country/location of the question is more important.

« Can someone ID this plant for me, it self seeds everywhere & I love it :o))
Never noticed a problem there but I wish they would add their county. Advice can vary a lot between Devon and the north of Scotland!
