Why are my Grape Hyacinth bulbs popping up now I wonder? Are they confused by the weather?

Oh I didn’t realise, first time I’ve noticed!

Mine do every year. Strange really because other bulbs wait until much later.

I have to stop myself from pulling them up as they're ruining my summer alpine rock garden display! I have already cleared one area of them and am tempted to have a go but thinking of it I would like to save some. The thing with these is that you can't have just some because they multiply like mad! It needs careful controlling to make it look like they casually pop up in some places! lol

Tell me about it. We have been digging up football size clumps of bulbs for years and still they re-appear. Saddest of all is that the white and very pale blue ones revert to the common blue as well.

Oh? I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me as I have got some pink, light blue and white ones. Better keep them in pots.

How strange. They don't do that here. I have to help them to spread around.

The original bulbs stay the correct colour, just their seedlings which go back to blue and overwhelm the special ones.

Mine are also up, I quite like it as I can remove the ones I don't want, saying that it never seems to lessen the amount, lol...

They always come through in late summer. It's the way they are.
