I have just been given a Transvaal Daisy, I do not know much about this plant, he said it was hardy but it seams to be dying back at the moment do I cut it back now and wait till next year? and what are the other names for it?

Hi, whoever told you that Gerbera was hardy, is wrong, this is a genus of about 40 species, which vary between half hardy and frost tender, so if you have a half hardy species, and a very mild winter, you MAY be able to keep them overwinter, but you would lose them in a normal winter, Derek.

Gerbera is another name for it. Usually easy to take care of but I've had a couple of the outside type and they don't seem to last more than a couple of years. Try the website
