Fitting 4mm connections to Hozelock pipes

After inserting a connector 2778 into the main pipe it is the necessary to insert the other end of 2778 into a 4mm pipe. The pipe is fairly rigid and it is not easy to fit the 4mm pipe over the ridged end of 2778. Help, what is the best way of fitting a 2778 and 4mm pipe?

Not sure I understand the question entirely, but if you are trying to fit a hosepipe to a plastic connection, then dipping the end in really hot water softens the rubber and makes it much easier to push it onto things. Hope this helps.
