Another query please - I bought this shrub from Plants Galore but it had no label and no-one was able to tell me what it is. It looks a bit like a snowberry but not sure - any ideas? It's thrived but I need to move it so anxious to move at the right time.

Oh dear - teach me to be more careful what I buy in future!

Don't sling it yet - best wait and see if those little green clusters ripen into sprays of snowballs - I never noticed what the intermediate stage was like,, being too keen to get rid!

The seed pods look a bit like those of spindle. Could it be the same family?

I wondered about that too. The seed pods look very much like Euonymus europaeus before they open properly.

Well lets hope it is!

I'm intrigued now, but if it does turn out to be a snowberry what is the problem likely to be?

Rampant suckering.

Had a look yesterday at our Euonymus eurpaeus alba and it is identical to the one shown. In which case you have a very nice and fairly unusual shrub.

It actually looks like my exochorda macrantha, same seed heads.
Is that the same as a snowberry? I've not had any suckers.

Sophie don't panic, its not the same.

I agree it does look like a snowberry, in which case I wouldn't plant it at all - its a real thug. Took me ages to get rid.
