Does H. Colchica flower and if so would any part be toxic (small children around). Thanks from Richard

Hederas do flower when they're mature, but only if you don't keep it regularly trimmed back - the whole plant is toxic anyway. The flowers look quite like Fatsia japonica flowers, and the berries on them turn black as they ripen.

But, ivy is invaluable to insects and birds for nectar and the berries, so don't dismiss it without regard for the other inhabitants of the garden. Phil J
