Thank you both, me too Seaburngirl - I don't feel strong enough to do any heavy work at the moment. My brother in law asked the question so he can get on with his, my Agapanthus however, is huge and might have to wait until Spring.

Oh me too now - not splitting mine, after so much heavy gardening recently, my back's finally given up the ghost and I can't sit down nor lean forward! No more bending for me, my litter picker has been dragged out of the cupboard again... been some months since I needed it.

we are all getting aches and pains etc but a good deep warm bath will work wonders. however I still have 5 days before I can have a bath. showers don't ease the aches do they?

No, they don't - but I haven;t risked a bath since they replaced my old one 5 years ago with a narrower and deeper version, and I'm two inches shorter than I used to be, so that means there's a real risk I might not be able to get out again... and I especially wouldn't risk it since I can't sit down at the moment, I definitely wouldn't be able to get out!

When we arrived at the gite, I decided to have a nice relaxing bath. All went ok until I tried to get out. It was a mini bath with nothing to grab hold of. The thought of calling out the local fire brigade galvanised me into action and I managed to clamber out, not a pleasant sight!

Thank heavens you managed to get out Cammomile - its precisely the fear of having to call a neighbour or the fire brigade to get me out that stops me risking it... that happened to my mum when she was a couple of years older than me, she had to ring the alarm to get the warden (young male) to get her out, took her months to get over the embarrassment and look him in the eye again. And she never risked a bath again either... But I'm not in sheltered accommodation, so no warden to call anyway...

How do I say thanks?
