A friend wonders if she can propagate her Echiums using a woody stem. It doesn’t look likely, but I promised to ask . . . thanks.

which echium is it?
The shrubby types can be propagated by taking semi-ripe cuttings of lateral shoots in the summer. not really from the woody stems though.
most are easily propagated by seed. most species seed freely.
