In respect of Salvia Hot LIps, no, you can't divide it, its not a perennial, its more of a sub shrub/shrub, and as such, propagation is by softwood cuttings in early summer, or basal cuttings, or semi hardwood cuttings in autumn.

Looks like Goldsturm Rudbeckia aka Black-eye-Susan.

The foliage looks more like one of the perennial sunflowers, to me, but I haven't found one that really matches, yet.

I also think its Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm' and as for the Salvia, Bamboo is correct in all that she says, so I wont bother repeating it :o)

Yep, I was wrong. It's Rudbeckia fulgida 'Goldsturm'. I guess that I was confusing my mental image of R. hirta with R. fulgida. Sigh!

Bamboo is absolutely right, but if Annyloo doesn’t want to wait, it might be worth taking a few cuttings now. I’ve struck cuttings from other shrub-type Salvias like Love and Wishes, Cero Potosi, Dyson’s Joy at this time of year (but maybe Hot Lips is trickier?).

They're Rudbeckia.
