At first glance, it looks like a Houttuynia, which can become a terrible thug.

Could be , break a leaf off they have a vey strong smell.

Thanks for your interest. The leaves do not have a strong smell...and looking up the Houttuynia I think that's a pond plant and I would have no reason to buy that.
Oh well I will just plant it in a pot and see what happens. But Thanks again

Im usually fairly good at ID...but this is ringing no bells at all for me! Do let us know!

Well I have potted it up so we shall see...I guess when it flowers IF it flowers we will have a better idea.
