Can anyone identify this plant please...My neighbour bought the seeds back from Australia, but has forgotten what they were The second pic seems to be flower heads maybe that are coming???

It looks rather like a type of Phyllocladus, but I haven't been able to find an exact match from the images on Google.

It looks a lot like horse nettle. Are there spines underneath the leaves?
