Beginning to wonder now, but it is almost impossible to get a better photo. Getting theat one was crippling my back. Think we will have to wait until Spring and see what it looks like then. We think it may be Digitalis lutea growing right at the base of something else.

what about one of the smaller comfrey's. the way the flowers are arranged suggested this to my friend. certainly the hairiness of the leaf would fit.

Have only just started to look at this and I would say that SBG is correct; it's white comfrey for me.

Well it looks like a red campion (Silene dioica) by the leaves on the second photo. Are they the same plant, the first photo looks to have more 'hairy' leaves? Someone will know for sure!
