There is a dark corner of the front garden in the block where I live. Can anyone suggest a shrub, preferably a low growing, flowering evergreen that could go under the window in the picture. You can see the area is covered over the entrance and it gets no sun and no rain, unless there is a wind and it gets blown in. The picture was taken mid afternoon on a sunny day. Any ideas would be gratefully taken on board.

Sarcoccoca (Christmas box) is another candidate. It does nothing all year, and then suddenly in February has the most incredibly scented, small white flowers

All good ... also Nandina domestica which has red, bronze and green leaves all year, small white flowers in spring and red berries in autumn.

or Skimmia, aucuba, euonymus all evergreen and easy to maintain.
