I’ve just noticed these little white thingies on a clematis I bought from Secret Garden. I was repotting it and found them just beneath the surface.
Are they eggs, such as ants, or what? And what should I do about them, please?

are they 'crispy-ish' when you crush them?
It looks like perlite to me which is an inorganic medium used to open up the soil and improve drainage.
nothing to worry about.

I shall have to have a little squeeze! But not till tomorrow now, as it’s dark and the potting shed is at the bottom of the garden.

How do I say thanks?
