These little orange things are lying on the soil, all around my Gertrude Jekyll climbing rose. Please can anyone advise if I should do anything about them? Thank you.

Yes, they may not contain any food any more, but the clay outer casing is very persistent.

it looks like slow release fertilizer granules.s it would be better raked in to the surface.
